Unlike in western countries or U.S where there are 4 main seasons, Cambodia basically, has only 2 main seasons including dry season and rainy season. However, during the transition between rainy season and dry season, there is also a small period of a windy season which its temperature is the lowest among all. Therefore, all tourists should be aware of this and set up a great plan for the best destination during a different season so that they can fully enjoy the uniqueness and full potential of each destination. For instance, you might not want to go to the beach during the rainy season because there might be a storm which disappoints you from going to the island on which you wish to land. Therefore, this article will simply recommend different destinations in Cambodia you should travel during each season.
1. The Destination For Windy Season (November to January)
The transition between rainy and dry season lies the windy season when the weather is amazingly cool with no rain. The temperature is relatively low and there is wind blowing from northeast monsoon which offers dry and cool wind for you to enjoy. 2. The Destination For Dry Season (February to May)
The dry season actually runs from February to May. February has the mildest hot temperature while April’s temperature is scorching. During this season, the wind blows with a high heat wave and normally most tourists don’t like to go to the northwest part of the country as the temperature there is relatively high and many tourist destinations there requires sightseeing, which you need to walk under the sun. When it marks the end of the dry season. Here comes the season of raining. In Cambodia, you might find it raining almost every day during the rainy season in most provinces. Therefore, the local tourists only decide to travel somewhere nearby their residence. However, during this high rain rate, people enjoy traveling to many different waterfalls. The popular waterfalls in Cambodia are Kirirum waterfall located at Kirirum mountain and the recently popular, Tmor Ta Da waterfall because there is enough cool and enjoyable water for them to play. The waterfall flows from the top of the mountain across the magnificent stone formation, which causes the water to be amazingly cool. 4. Rainy Season (From July to October)
When the rainy season almost comes to an ends. There will be less rain. Therefore, the northwest part of the country is the common tourist attraction during the rainy season because as I mentioned earlier it is scorching hot during a dry season. In the northwest part, such provinces as Siem Reap, Battambang, Pailin and so forth are the best places for visiting. Siem Reap province is famous for the temples concentrated in this province. It is the ancient and most sacred place in the country. Continue the journey to Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, and Pailin to see many other tourist attractions neighboring the sacred land of Siem Reap.
